Breakfast with Christ: The Peace of the Lord

The Peace of the Lord

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

In the days leading to the death of Jesus Christ, His disciples got anxious, worried and fearful of what is ahead. Jesus, realizing this, gave them one essential element we all need in times of trouble: PEACE OF THE LORD.

The peace that Jesus puts in our hearts is different from the peace that we experience in this world. For the world, peace is the absence of trouble or conflict. But the peace that we experience in Christ is the peace that is greater than any form of conflict or trouble.

There will always be troubles in this world. Problems don’t end. So if we depend on the world-kind-of peace, we will never experience true peace. But in Christ Jesus, we can have absolute peace even in the midst of all the troubles of this life.

If you depend on Christ for your Peace, you can remain in absolute peace even when the storm is against you. The peace Christ offers us gives us assurance of victory over every circumstance.

Irrespective of the troubles you may be going through today, you can remain at peace if you will depend on God.

Know this; God is always in control over every situation that concerns you. The storms may surprise you but they don’t surprise God. He is in firm control. Be at peace.

Today, rest in the peace of the Lord.
