GHAMRO To Chase Churches for Using Music for Free

The Ghana Music Right Organization – GHAMRO administrator, Abraham Adjetey has hinted that the royalty collection organization will soon take on churches for the use of music for services.

He mentioned that the GHAMRO task force will start collecting royalties from the churches just like event organizers pay for intellectual property for works they use for their events.

“We started three years ago. I remember I was in a church service, then the task force from GHAMRO entered. They started engaging the church on the need to pay for the musical works they use,” he disclosed.

Abraham Adjetey in an interview with Christian Agyei Frimpong on Onua Fm added that measures are put in place to make sure churches pay for any musical property used during church service.
