Government to Support Creative Arts Industry with GHS 5 Million

The government of Ghana through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has announced a Five (5) Million seed capital to improve the creative industry.

The sector minister, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal disclosed the information at the stakeholders meeting on Friday, June 25, 2021, at the Accra Tourism Information Centre – ATIC in Accra.

The minister explained the seed money is to support creative arts practitioners to improve and grow the industry to make it attractive to investors.

“As seed money, we are going to start with GHS 5 million. For me, it is all about making money so that we can move the industry to the next level. I want to help you make that money, grow your business and pay your taxes,” he said.

The stakeholders meeting brought together players in the creative arts industry such as actors/actresses, musicians, media personalities, and musicians to familiarize themselves with the minister, Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, to know their concerns, and to find ways of addressing their concerns.
