Gov’t Is Pretending To Be Fixing The Movie Industry, Colleagues Slaying – Yvonne Nelson

Ghanaian movie actor and producer, Yvonne Nelson has taken on the government and her colleagues for the demise of the movie industry.

Yvonne Nelson has in a series of Twitter posts on Saturday, January 04, 2020, lamented on the current state of the movie industry. She bemoaned that while the government is pretending to be fixing the movie, her colleagues are busy slaying.

According to her, “…As for government and the arts (movie industry), them just dey do like them dey do something kerkerh. My peeps like i said are busy slaying so they don’t even know what’s going on!”

Movie producer and Director of National Commission on Culture – NCC, Socrate Safo in a recent interview believed that the woes of the movie industry are largely a result of the stupidity of industry players for giving out for free high budget production to TV stations.

However, according to the “Fix Us” producer, the loss of drive and passion for the movie industry is because the movie industry players care more about slaying than investing in making movies.

“Peeps in my industry don’t care charley! They care about slaying more than investing in or making movies, the drive and passion died a while ago!”

She further called it embarrassing when all the industry has are two cinema locations when promoting movies and quizzed why anyone would invest in such an industry.
