Growing up with a single mother, Kofi Sarpong disclosed he sold kenkey from Junior Secondary till he left Senior Secondary to be able to pay for his school fees.

 

The decision he revealed was due to financial difficulties in paying for school fees. His father, he explained had left home when he was in class three. He was left in the care of his single mother who was also taking care of other family kids out of her meager salary as a cook at the training college.

“My father left us when I was in class three. I never saw him again until I was in the “O” Level. My mum used to work at a training college as a cook. She was the only person taking care of us including other family kids,” he revealed.

 

Speaking on Rainbow Fm with Sokoo Hemaa, the African Borborbor hitmaker and Chief Superintendent of Police – CSP also mentioned how he had to stop school for more than 5 times. This situation pushed him into selling kenkey in other to be able to pay for his school fees.

 

“It got to a time that things became very difficult. I stopped schooling more than 5 times because there was no money for school fees,” he disclosed.

 

“Fortunately, they used to prepare Kenkey in the house we lived in. So, I decided to learn to prepare Kenkey and soup to sell in the morning before going to school. Because of that, I always received canes for turning up for school late because of the Kenkey business. This continued until I left for Secondary School,” CSP Kofi Sarpong said.

Even though his classmates, more especially the ladies do laugh at him whenever they meet him selling Kenkey, CSP Kofi Sarpong explained he never allowed that to discourage him.

 

The Chief Superintendent who through the challenges of having to live with family members and at a point ventured into selling snail due to financial difficulties enroll to be enlisted into the Ghana Police Service. He has also been ministering at churches until he was discovered by his talent manager, Kwasi Ernest of Excel Media.

I Fed On a Baby’s Poo to Get Food to Eat – Celestine Donkor

Ghanaian gospel musician, Celestine Donkor, in a testimony revealed to have fed on baby poo to get food to eat as a house help.

 

The musician who shared her testimony on Rainbow Fm with the host Sokoo Hemaa revealed the experience had been embarrassing to her that she has not been able to share with anyone and even her mother will for the first time be hearing it on the radio.

Narrating her ordeal, Celestine Donkor disclosed she once worked as an assisting maid to a nursing mother in a compound house. The woman used to also have a senior maid that will usually burden her with the house chores she was tasked to do at the time she was diagnosed with appendix.

 

“The baby the woman left with us poo-poo in the diaper and at that time, I had been diagnosed with appendix yet I managed to do all the works she had asked me to do. But someway somehow, the senior maid had decided to punish me. I was very hungry to the point of crying but she insists I eat the baby’s poo before giving me food to eat. Due to hunger, I honestly ate the baby’s poo before she gave me food to eat,” she revealed.

 

The 2019 ‘Agbebolo’ hitmaker, Celestine Donkor is, however, grateful to God for the identified transition of favor upon her life.
