Mr, Isaac Appau Gyasi, the new Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben South has on Saturday, September 08, ordered for the closure of Bula Spot, a popular brothel in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua.
Bula Spot, formerly known for programs and activities has been converted into a brothel having about 32 rooms not only accommodating sex workers but for all illicit sexual activities involving young girls
These commercial sex workers are charged by the owner of the brothel GHC 40 each room per day and has been running the brothel for more than a year
Mr Isaac Appau Gyasi with the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) has ordered for the closure and demolishing of the brothel within 14 days of notice
Further information gathered by ATMOGH.COM is that, on Monday, September 10, 2018, many of the commercial sex workers, were seen vacating the brothel with their belongings back to the various places they came from
Last year, a feud between the Seniors and the Juniors commercial sex workers was reported at the brothels. The Senior sex workers were not happy with their juniors for charging patrons GHC 10 which was far below their minimum charge of GHC 50.
Most of these commercial sex workers, aging 18 to 35 revealed, financial difficulties was the reason they engaged in prostitution hoping the economy will be better to provide them decent jobs.
