It has become a norm in recent times for most creative industry player in Ghana to show their supremacy over the other especially in the reggae and dancehall fraternity.

However, the reggae show host of the year at the just ended RTP Awards 2018, Blakk Kobby of 3Fm has defiled the norm by giving honor to whom it’s due.

Blakk Kobby has expressed that, getting a nomination in the same category with his senior colleague, Blakk Rasta of Zylofon Fm was more than joy to him.

“Being in the same category with Zylofon’s Blakk Rasta was more then a joy to me but i doubted my faith of becoming the winner”.

Adding that, Blakk Rasta has won that category for five consecutive times and it took only a miracle to win over him.

The reggae show host, Blakk Kobby however disclosed, he nearly gave up on radio but to be nominated in the same category with Blakk Rasta encouraged him to work harder.

He therefore advised the youth never to give up on their dreams.

Blakk Kobby dedicated his award to the controversial reggae presenter cum musician, Blakk Rasta for supporting him all these years.

“You see, I have certain principles. You know I am very loud; I am very controversial. I don’t want the situation whereby, Kwame Dadzie as a board member will be criticizing 3 Music Awards on radio, on TV, on social media and they will come and tell me, you are part of us,” he said.

Harboring no disrespect for the 3 Music Board, the avid entertainment writer and presenter at Citi Fm and Citi TV disclosed he would have loved to serve in the capacity of a research consultant for a fee than a board member.

How I Stopped Masturbating Before Marriage – Uncle Ebo Whyte

Published

on

Uncle Ebo Whyte, the award-winning playwright has disclosed he was heavily addicted to masturbation at a young age of 20.

He also revealed doing everything possible to stop the addiction including seeking counsel from his church leaders, embarking on prayer retreats at the beach and fasting.

The self-taught chartered accountant and marketing professional, Uncle Ebo in a Facebook post yesterday revealed he was able to move away from masturbation through a Sunday sermon when he had the strong urge to go to church.

He, however, recalled moving away from masturbation did not stop him from petting his wife when he started courting her, an act he considered as not honoring God even though they were determined to go to the altar in holiness.

Uncle Ebo disclosed crying to God for help and God directed him to wield the sword of the Spirit.

“I cried to God: “How do I stop living in sexual sin?” God directed me to wield the sword of the Spirit – recite memory verses on Holiness and purity and as I did, the erection dissipated. And we were able to stay off each other until we went to the altar.”

Read Uncle Ebo Whyte’s Full Facebook post below:

PART 1

As a young man in my 20’s, I was into masturbation. Heavily.

Yes, I was a Christian and a leader in the ministry but still struggled with this. I confessed to my fellow leaders and was rebuked. Interestingly after the meeting, some of the other leaders came to confess to me that they were guilty of the same.

I then embarked on a personal retreat at the beach, to wrestle with God until I hear from Him. But after about 30 minutes I had a strong urge to go to church, it was a Sunday. I did and the sermon was for me, from Romans 7. It taught me that I wasn’t a pervert. With that knowledge, somehow I was able to move away from masturbation.

Fast forward I started courting my wife and we determined to go to the altar in holiness but we weren’t quite holy. We were ‘petting’. I knew what we were doing wasn’t honoring God. So I went on a one week fast and stayed away from my wife to be.

At the end of the fast, filled with anointing I went to visit her but as I approached her house ‘Kojo Mensah’ started to respond. I was getting an erection! I broke into tongues but the harder I prayed the harder the erection got.

PART 2

I cried to God: “How do I stop living in sexual sin?” God directed me to wield the sword of the Spirit – recite memory verses on Holiness and purity and as I did, the erection dissipated. And we were able to stay off each other until we went to the altar.

God’s word is the sword of the spirit that’s why David said: “Your word I have hidden in my, that I might not sin against you” (Ps 119 vs 11).

Dear Christian trying to quit sexual sin:

  1. Understand that the body and spirit are at war.
  2. Memorize scriptures on purity and holiness and recite when the need arises.
  3. Take one day at a time; celebrate the victories but if you fail, tomorrow is another day.
  4. Hold yourself accountable to someone and confess your sin to him/her

Finally, remember at certain levels of addiction, willing yourself to quit doesn’t make you stop. It’s warfare.

Creative Arts For Change Applauds Government, Says Afronation Partnership Is A Ghana Agenda

Published

on

The Creative Arts for Change has applauded the Nana Akufo-Addo led Government of Ghana for the recent MoU signed partnership between the Ghana Tourism Authority – GTA and organizers of Afronation.

In a release dated, February 02, 2020, sighted by www.asiwomewrites.com, the pro-NPP wing of the creative arts in Ghana expressed that, the partnership is a Ghana Agenda and not for political gain but feeds into the “Beyond the Return” declaration

The group also expressed their excitement about the partnership the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture is going to embark with Local Festival organizers to put permanent festivals on the calendar of activities for both local and foreign patronage.

Read the full release below;

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Greetings,

The membership of the above movement wants to express our profound gratitude to the Nana Addo led Government on policies and interventions for the Creative sector with this Press release.

As of today 2nd February, we would like to associate ourselves with the recent deals Ghana has signed with various partners at the just ended UK-Africa Investment Summit 2020. As members of the creative industry, we are elated to have a stake in the number of deals signed at the tables witnessed by His Excellency the President. We must say these are some of the recognition we have always wanted, but to our dismay, it has become the topic of discussions since the signing of the MoU between the Ghana Tourism Authority and organizers of AfroNation. The Creative Arts for Change indeed welcomes healthy debate or discussions around the MoU for we want the best for the sector, but knowing what was signed between the parties, we would like to state with emphasis that by far, this has been another blessing right from the Inauguration of the National Film Authority Last December.

Unlike the dish out support in the past years and partial partnership the mother Ministry has with event organizers, this is a very well thought through the partnership that will highlight Ghana in the December festive period to the world all over. With local representation, AfroNation Ghana, duly registered in Ghana together with Government Agency GTA, to put up a local organizing committee to fashion out the festival processes to serve indigenous Ghanaians but meet up international standards, we truly have a lot to be grateful about. This notwithstanding will involve all those who matter, from 100 percent Ghanaian event organizers, sales vendors, rentals of equipment, celebrities to perform, skilled laborers to be employed from start to finish, we say, by far this will enhance the expertise and put food on the tables of hundreds of Ghanaians for the next 5 years. The month of December will never be the same in Ghana.

On this note, we would like to thank His Excellency the President for leading in the honor made on the creative arts and tourism sector with such important steps taken by the Ministry of Tourism Art and Culture through the Ghana Tourism Authority to put Ghana on the map again after the Year of Return activities. We are also happy to hear about the partnership the Ministry is going to embark with Local Festival organizers to put permanent festivals on the calendar of activities for both local and foreign patronage.

We would also like to emphasize without any malice that this is a Ghana agenda, and not for any political gain, so let’s embrace a plan that is to feed into the “Beyond the Return” declaration, and therefore, want to rally the support of Ghanaians to remain resolute as the government pursues its policies. This we believe is one of the deals signed to make it possible.

Finally, we are calling on the Government to remain focus and fulfill the rest of the promises it has made to Ghanaians so as together we can enjoy prosperity.

Signed……….
