Nigerian singer, Simisola Kosoko, better known by her stage name Simi is the newest signee to Apple’s Platoon
The songwriter made the announcement in an Instagram post which she said,
“New week and new deal. I’m officially part of the Platoon family”
Simi also disclosed Platoon stood out because of their energy and expecting a rewarding relationship with them.
“I’m hoping that we have a successful, rewarding relationship as we go forward,” she said.
”Platoon definitely stood out for me because of the energy. When you’re doing art, it is always important for everyone to be on the same wavelength,” Simi stated.
Denzyl Feigelson, Chief Executive of Platoon Records recently revealed that his label’s intention is to help artists get through the coronavirus pandemic and looking forward to seeing Simi’s music spread out to the entire globe.
Platoon record was acquired by Apple Music in 2016, to enable artists to distribute their music independently. They have handed out advances to various African acts especially in Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa, in the last three years.
