Super Deal Saturdays Herald Graphic 'Do Ghana' Travel Festival

The Graphic ‘Do Ghana’ Travel Festival, designed to host retail, hospitality and tourism establishments offers Super-Deal Saturdays starting in the month of August.

August 1, 8 and 15 is aimed at creating avenues for revellers to patronise Locally Made, Locally Loved Ghanaian products and services as Super-Deal Saturdays offerings freebies, discounts and new experiences in shopping, dining out, staycations and tours.

The ‘Do Ghana’ virtual campaign which is under the theme, “See Ghana – The Place You Think You Know,” is spearheaded by the Graphic Communication Group is designed to build confidence in Ghana’s post-COVID-19 future under the Bentsifi, Storytellers and Tourism Curators.

The month-long festival which was launched on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dr Ziblim Iddi has been endorsed by the Ghana Tourism Authority at a joint ceremony to announce the 2020 Emancipation Day celebration.

The webinar commenced with the daily publishing of heritage and culture snippets and trivia in the Daily Graphic. The first four (4) weekly webinars will be on the tourism ecosystem within the difficult COVID-19 season.

The ‘Do Ghana’ campaign will also highlight a Photo Show with an online viewing exhibition by some leading lifestyle and travel photographers like Yaw Pare, Emmanuel Bobbie, Nana Kwadwo Duah and Steve Ababio.

The official Festival tour, titled ‘Akofu Sunsum – The Cure of Komantse’ curated by WangoWango, will run in collaboration with Sunseekers Tours, who have formed an alliance to offer The SunWango Experience.

On Saturday, August 8, the “Cocoa Y3 Ghana” and the SunWango Experience offers an official excursion to the original Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farms in Mampong.

The SunWango Experience for the weekend is ‘Conquering Mount Gemi, which offers an exhilarating hike up the highlands of Amedzofe for a barbecue cookout and welcome spread in the great outdoors after months of COVID restrictions. The mountain top offers a great space for distancing yet great bonding.
