“My job is to usher in the presence of God and move out of the way, so He can do what He wants to do. If you take the centre stage, you are in the way, and I am speaking to each artist who is a worship artist,” he said.

In his interview with Pastor Ato Acquah on Joy FM’s devotion program, ‘Joy Time in His Presence’ on Monday, Phil Thompson reminded worship leaders that, worship is about God and what He wants to do.

He also added that a worship leader’s talent is as “unique as their fingerprint” and advised them to desist from mimicking other artists but rather focus on their individual talent and develop it.

“You have something in you that the world is waiting for, so tap into what God has placed inside of you and do not try to mimic anybody else out there. You have the secret source, and the world is waiting for you, so keep that in mind. You have something nobody else has,” he stressed.
